I'd appreciate some help with this
Hey guys
I'm ready to order my PROM burning equipment right now. I decided to get the Pocket Programmer fron Transtronics for $130 bucks. What exactly do I need to order to make a custom chip for my 92 Z28 ? Any adapters needed or does the chip fit in the socket on the programmer ? Also... will ordering TunerCat for 69 bucks help me any ? Does TunerCat have support for my ECM ? Thanx a lot for any feedback you might have.

Ported and polished heads, ported stock TPI base, ported plenum, Comp Cams XR270HR-10 cam (lift .495/.502 duration 218/224 lobe separation 110), Edelbrock TES headers, LT4 valve springs, Crane AFPR, Flowmaster catback with LT1 style tips, MSD coil & wires...
"Take that auto, drop it in first, hold the brakes, stomp the gas and grin from ear to ear! :-)

The PROM burning article in the tech article section of thirdgen.org explains the complications of the MemCal and the burner and the various methods to program a chip for a MemCal equipped car.
TunerCat doesn't tell you what to change for your car. They only supply support for explaining what a particular button on the program does. Download the demo and you'll see what I mean. Go to TunerCat's website and it tells you what ECM's it supports. The '92 730 ECM is supported.
I would recommend that you read the article because the article along with its links will explain everything you just asked.
