Scanning Software

It seem's as if there is alot of information on tuning, and the hardware needed to tune yourself. But what about good scanning software for f-body's older than 90. Datamaster only supports 90-92. What is everyone else using for their 87 TPI cars?

I most often just use Diacom+.
Pricey, but good coverage for doing old and new stuff

Yes. I know of Diacom $300+, Ease $300+ and Autoxray with the pc-link $275+ but was just looking for something cheaper.

Between Diacom, Autoxray and Ease, which one do most suggest?

I started out with Diacom. It is DOS based, not real fancy. Works good on old, slower computers. I wanted a Windows based scan tool, so I looked into the Ease Tool. I bought the personal plus version. It is easy to use, lots of bells and whistles, good recording and playback abilities. It cost more than Diacom, but it is a little more high tech. You can use it on any GM 82-95.

Let me know if you need more info.

Diacom is the only one, IMO
Just so versitle.
The best is yet to come, but might be a while. You'll have to cut the ecm case and get to the edge board connector, and pick up the actual bus there.
I have a Direct Scan that uses that and you would never beleive how good it is.
Fool around with something like www.chuengineering.com
If you want a real file to run on it holler.
you can set the scan rate from 4-18 frames per sec. runs DOS, is cool

I opened one of my '165s for curiousity's sake, and was a bit intrigued by the edgecard. Not that I didn't expect it to be there, its pretty common for mass-production boards to have an card edge for plugging in ICE testers for burn-in and field testing. What all do you get on that bus, EVERYTHING? As in, full data/address/control busses?

And what is the scheme for polling the data at a faster rate, you can't lock the bus and do a DMA transfer can you?
