Repository Web layout
Everyone,
We have the go ahead for design on the BIN repository here at thirdgen.org. I have FTP access to begin the design. I want to get the regular user's input as to what they feel the layout should look like.
I also want to add that Grumpy (Bruce Plecan) has contributed many stock bins that will be posted on the thirdgen BIN repository. This will help greatly in terms of expanding the number of BINS that will be available.
Any and all comments/thoughts are appreciated.

I don't think I'd really care what it looks like as long as it's there. The layout at diy-efi is good enough for me. I see no reason to get fancy...then slower modem users wouldn't be able to download the stuff real quick cuz they'd be waiting on the page to load.
SO, to sum it up....directory structure by ECM and then under that directory maybe stock and modded. Then have a column with a brief description of the PROM. Guess that's my only complaint about the diy page...I don't know what those broadcast codes mean and I don't have time to look them up.
Thanks for settin' this up...

All I was saying is "Finally... after all this time he got Dirk to approve it..." And what's wrong with copying some images and downloading some bins from my site ?!? The work has already been DONE and he would have to do is copy stuff over to the new site's home. Sheesh!

It's this attitude of no appreciation that these things are now avialable that may folks just sit on what they have. Arrogance doesn't get anyone anywhere.
This ain't about just you just about an attitude that really doesn't help actually get things done.

WHAT ?! What did I bring to the party ? My time and the fact I'm willing to lend in hand in the design ? It's YOU GUYS that are being arrogant telling me I didn't do anything and I dont appreciate what was done. If there was something there TO appreciate I would. Now that after sooo long it's finally starting to take off, I'm OFFERING my help by letting TRAXION download the bins I already have categorized on my website to make his work a lot easier. I brought quite a bit to the party pal, it's guys like you on the GMECM list that didnt even bother to make one little comment when I posted my work on the list. Designing the site, hunting around for bins and categorizing them... plus setting up an FTP server so people can upload their custom bins is NOT exactly a walk in the park.

Easy guys. Its ALL good
Blade has done a nice job of putting up his BIN site. Kudos Blade. Job well done.
The biggest thing here is that Blade's ego is showing a little bit and that can really get some people miffed. But, that's OK with me. In fact, IMHO, he deserves to show a little bit of ego with the HTML work that he has done. That is AOK in my book
We're a community here and we'll get a lot more done without arguing. Everybody just relax a little bit. Again, its all good
Blade - appreciate the offer and I might take you up on it if it is still open. Truth is, I have a lot going on right now. Most of my time I am finding myself getting more and more into the specifics of the ECM hacs, assembly language, and wierd ideas. I don't know if I have the time to put up a 'fancy' graphical site. A simple FTP site like the GMECM list can be put up in a day. However, I am not a graphic artist and putting up a more graphical site would take me more time.

TRAXION I appreciate your input on this. If you don't have time to do it, I will. I can make another site that will blend in nicely with the rest of the design of thirdgen.org and then send it to you in a zip file or something. I think it's time we stepped into the 21st Century and leave the simple list FTP style categorization behind... there's a better way to do it. Ever been in the incoming area of the diy-efi FTP ? I'd say it needs a "little" cleaning up... lol

Blade,
DEFINITELY appreciate the offer. Let me talk with Dirk and then I will get back to you. I just have soooo much going on right now and I don't want to hold up the thirdgen repository just because I am busy.
I wouldn't dis on the gmecm FTP site too much. It has lasted a long time and is functional in many ways. For US (thirdgen) I believe that there is a better way. For the GMECM site it actually makes a lot of sense. They store many many different things there. We will only be storing bins. Plus, among the wading through the FTP site to find what you want you'll always stumble across other stuff that is very helpful that you may have not discovered otherwise.

heck let Blade handle the repository. I promise alot of help on programing outthere and like Tim somtimes get caught up in it . Work takes over and have no time for the personal stuff.
Blade I likes your current setup.
I still have plenty of bins to upload for hte 85,89 and 90-91 ecms. I do have a couple of modded for 93LT1.
Heck my gmecm mailbox is getting full every 2 days I havnt been able to keep up reading it
On another note I though I would mention my last time out at the track. I ran consitent 11.66's with mid 1.6 60's. Car is runing great. I am surpised how well the LPE219 cam is working with the miniram. Tim you have some catching up todo
actaully my current bin is on blades site.
90blmz2.bin
I run a pretty agressive timing curve but my motor likes it. if anyone sees any errors feel free to let me know

Nice seeing someone realize you don't need want 100 Ka/Pas all over the place.
What was the base BCC?.
You tried working on the IAC stuff?.
Grumpy
Base bcc. Hmm this chip has been through the ringer and then some. Actually it is a base from a ADS that was sent off to a east coast chip programmer then a bud tweaked then I did about 50 tweak. Not much left stock but the open loop coolant values.
I just noticed some replys on the gmecm aobut detonation. I will find this out for myself this winter when I pull my heads. I seldom get knock retard usually on a shift so I took out some timing at 20-30 kpa 4400 up . When I was granny shifting at the track. my timing at 20-30 kpa use tobe 46 degrees with base 6. way too much!! since taking some out hardly see any knock.Well that I no of.
IAC stuff???
