Custom Chip, or no custom chip?
I have done a brief search, and couldn't find an exact answer. I am looking to do some minor modding to my car, and I'm not sure if I should burn my own chip or have one burnt for me.
I currently have a new 305 TBI, completely stock except for an edelbrock open air element. Here are the upgrades I am planning on doing (with the exception of suspension/chasis mods of course!):
Hooker 2055 Shorty Headers + Y Pipe
Hi Flow catalytic converter (not sure which one yet)
MSD Ignition System
3 in exhaust
Flowmaster 80 series muffler
new 700-R4 Transmission
4th Gen Rear
Hi Pressure Fuel Pump (not sure which model yet)
With just these upgrades, should I worry about burning my own chip?

Just raise your Fuel Pressure to 46lbs and call it a day. Unless your going to raise your compression or put a drastic cam in then you should be o.k. I would not hurt to start learning to do your own but if thats all your going to do to it then you really dont need to do anything.

I think 46 psi of fuel pressure is a tad high for a nearly stock TBI setup.
evil_dave, to be honest, yes, you should get into your own PROM burning. It is the only way to have it correct.

I do plan on learning how to burn my own prom chips eventually, but I'm leaving for boot camp (marines) in 20 days, so its not in my immediate future.
