Corvette/Camaro/Firebird Chip Question
Corvette/Camaro/Firebird Chip Question
I have a very basic question and after searching the previous posts I could not find the answer. I need to know if the Proms from a Corvette/Irocz/TA are the same for a 1989 TPI automatic tranny setup.
As I read other posts, I see there is only 1 bin file per year, $6E file for the 1989 TPI.
So can I use a 1989 350 TPI/Auto chip from a Corvette in my 1989 Irocz TPI/Auto ??
Thanks
Vic

They used different PROMs, mainly because the Corvette had aluminum heads and the F-bodies had iron heads. With their different thermal properties and higher compression in the Vette engine, the timing tables were much different, as well as a few other things I'm sure. It will work, especially if you're using the bin to start with and will be modifying to suit your engine...
