Where to start?

I am converting to SD soon. I need a chip. I would like to start doing this myself. I downloaded WinBin but I have no idea what any of that crap means. I looked at a lot of the postings already but they dont seem to be much help. Mostly I just want something to run my car with the new stuff I will be putting on. I will have a SLP dual cold air, (looking for) a set of mostly stock or cheap vette heads, miniram, a cam to with the miniram, slp 1 3/4 headers, and 24 lb injectors. Where do I begin? I need the bins and everything for SD. I have a prom burner and eraser here at work. I am going to see if the burner will work with the chip for the SD. I have read the article that Trax wrote but I am going to be rereading it a few times so this post is a bit premature. I just wanted to see what people here have to say.

Thanks
James

I don't see anything wrong with scooter's tone on this post do you? I could see where he could get frustrated. It's bad he had to post the WTF topic (two weeks later) to get a responce.

Nope. Nothing wrong with scooter's tone. However, there isn't a very specific question in his post. Its very general. Sometimes its difficult to answer a general post when you are not sure of the exact question. Scooter did e-mail me and we discussed his situation via e-mail. So, hopefully he has a good idea what needs to be done at this point in time.

Yeah guys, my other post got a bit out of hand. By my last message I was trying to convey thay I am just going to have to pay someone else to make me a chip or burn a stock one for now. I just hope it will run. I will revisit the PROM board in the spring when I have more time and I am serious about TUNING. But I am serious about calling someone and talking to them in more depth about what all the different things are and how they affect my car. If I had some knowledge of those things I may be able to better ascertain what I am doing. I think I may go DFI instead. From reading one of the pages it seems doing things on the fly is easier and there is the benefit of instant gratification or dissapointment.
