Small problem....any advice

I am having a problem with the eproms I burn using the pocket programmer. Everything seems to program ok. The problem is once I install the eprom in the computer(730), test scan using the auto x-ray it scans ok, but the car will not start. However, I have a back up chip that works just fine. What is the problem? I thought maybe it was the Tunercat I'm using. I just updated the software for the $8D but I tried a bin that I haven't touched with the new version and it does the same thing. TIA!

First time it happened, I thought I forgot to turn it off but I didn't.

Since you have a known good chip, why don't your read that chip and then put that bin on the other chip, with no mods. Also, compare the bin to both the original and the chip you wrote it to. If both check out, then the new chip MUST work. If it doesn't, then I would suspect the chip itself.

How are you doing eprom programming? Do you re-program the actual memcal, or do you swap the eprom via a ZIF socket?

Do they both use the same memcal?.
How much difference are there between the two bins?.
Take a read on the chip that works, and try that on the one that doesn't.
If your using just proms, that would tell ya if your read write is write by comparing files afterword, or If the chip has a problem. Might try reading the chip after erasing to see if it got fullly erased

Yes, they are using the same memcal(blue zif socket, thanks Trax). The wierd thing is I've used the other bins before with no problems. One of the bins is an original unmodified version and it doesn't seem to work now either. Also, I do a blank check on all the eproms to make sure they are fully erased before I program it. Before we go any further, I want to try burning a few more proms again, as I haven't had time since this first happened. I could be just missing something stupid.
