erasing proms????am I missing something????

It was always my understanding that if a eprom has a window on it and that window is exposed to UV light that it should erase. I tried to erase some eproms with my new eraser (dataeraser2/I checked the light and it does come on) and I dont think that they are erasing. So I would like to know if I could just read the chip and look in the buffer. What should an erased chip list -- all 0's or all F's . Im using the Pocket Programmer if that matters.
One last thing, how lon do you guys usually have to leave your chip in for?
Thanks

It depends on the eprom. I am finding 15 minutes for a "virgin". I explained this in the other post, so please read that one.

My pocket programmer only accepts the 00 as erased. the ones that erase to FF are in the minority. ADMS (?) seem to do the FF often. I don't know the whys of the above just what I've seen

I have a eprom that erases to all FF's. Pocket programmer doesn't see it as a erased prom therefore it won't re-program.

Nevermind, I figured out what was wrong.
