I've had this terrible idle and surging problem for teh past eight months or so. I've checked EVERYTHING and finally took it to a shop for them to run some diagnostics on it. I have a 350 vortec TBI with 214/224, .470/.491 cam and a custom chip from howell EFI. The shop says that my car starts up in open loop for 30 seconds. Then, no matter how warm it is it goes into closed loop for 3 minutes. It will then go back into open loop and stay there until the car is shut off. They don't know exactly how this is affecting my idle, but it sounds like a pretty serious problem to me. Any ideas of how a programmer could do this? I have the AKRK tpye ECM from 1988.
