Hello to all in the DIY PROM forum
This is my first post to the forum. I've only burned one chip so far. I''m using Tuner Cat to edit and program. I started because I needed to correct a overly rich condition on my 383 stroker. My previous 350 combo had a chip from Faster Proms and the 383 wouldn't run quite right with it.
I found that the way to get the O2 sensor readings back in spec was to eliminate some additional fuel that they had programmed into the 350 chip. I wasn't very amused when I was told it would be $500 for a new chip. I was down right mad when I realized how little tuning was actually required to get it in "close." I also found some mistakes in the Faster Prom. I'm glad I spent the money to buy my own programming set rather than just paying out $500 for a new chip that just needed some of their extra programming removed.
Thanks for the support before I ever joined! you guys are the ones who made it seem like I could do it, too.
