Traxion ... Question on your injector upgrade

Tim,

I am curious about your fuel injector upgrade. Last I recall you upgraded from 24's to 30's and found that there was a signifigant improvement in the higher rpm (thus your old injectors could not keep up).

Some background. I am setting aside some coin for upgraded injectors. Your comments on the 30's have me thinking the 24's may be too small.

Can I set the injector base for 30's and still run a lesser modified engine that you have? The duty time should just be much less with 30's than 24's, correct?

Any problem with running 30's at a lesser duty time?

Mark.
PS. Still got your 24's ... wanna part with them? :-D

There is a "minimum" pulse width too that injectors work efficiently at. Below a certain minimum for your injectors, the metering can become inaccurate.

i have 30's in my car and it runs and idles fine.even though the stock cam is now the major blockage in the system.i'm shure that if you wanted you could always turn the fuel pressure down to 37(or even 35) where ford rates them and that would let you run longer pulses until you need more fuel.if you are using stock pressure set the injecter constant to 33 and yo will be close.

I don't think Tim's had any problems getting a good idle with this 30# injectors, although I'm sure his idle isn't anywhere near 550 rpm (or whatever the stock setting is). No, you can't have his 24# injectors since I bought them from him.

LMAO at Greg.

The only reason that I switched to 30's is because I rev my engine to 6500 and the 24lb injectors gave me Duty Cycles of around 90% at 6500RPMs at WOT. Since I was swapping from my stock 22's based on high Duty Cycles I decided that 90% was good enough for me. That is why I went to 30s. The 24's actually worked absolutely fine and I noticed no difference in ANY aspect from the 24's to the 30's.

Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.
