EGT WOT curves
this is the first ive seen ever mentioned as far as what an egt curve should look like at wot.. found in archives:
"fuel curves based on EGT readings?
A very conservative method would be to tune A/F for the same EGT at
WOT across the rpm range. A more aggressive approach would be to tune
A/F for a shallow but constant rising slope vs rpm. There are lots of
ideas as to a maximum EGT which you shouldn't exceed. Some like to
use about 1800 F on dyno, but that's pretty short term. I love it when
the exhaust glows red!"
is this accurate? Up till now ive pretty much only been using my egt to detect knock really. I notice an upward slope in temp and I always thought it was normal but now reading this I wonder if that slope is too extreme as im not real sure what a "shallow" increase in temp means I notice a 100 to maybe 150 degree climb in temperatures as rpms come up
I especially notice it rise beyond 4000 rpm.. like up to 4000 it holds pretty steady then 4000 up it climbs up quickly
normal? abnormal? any thoughts would be nice
