this run is before the new exhaust system new sticky tires coolant by pass smog removal new runners new thermostat and new three core radiator since i would get to the line and be well over 220* aluminum drive shaft and vette servo

Nows the best time to start. I wish I woulda started when my car was relatively stock. I wouldnt have wasted so much time driving the new motor when it was no where near potential just learning the basics of prom burning when I had an "advanced" project
so start now! You can squeeze alot more out of even a bone stock setup

Just click on Traxion's link to "Prom Burning Introduction" shown above on on this very webpage and every webpage in the DIY PROM board. It has answers to every question you've asked, plus more. Then if you have any specific questions, just post them.
And I too agree with Pablo's comment about starting Prom Burning while your car is still relatively stock. You can learn the fundementals while still retaining your stock setup as a backup. And as you master them, you will get a smoother running engine and possibly a little more power by tuning your engine even further. Most of the gains you will obtain will be due to more aggresive spark while minimizing spark retard and a more finely tuned VE table.
Also, you will probably get an increase in gas mileage if you invoke highway mode/lean cruise which can pay for the cost of the equipment just in fuel savings alone.
