Will my scanning/tuning software work on a 93 Z-28?

A friend has a 93 Z-28, LT1, which I believe is a SD setup. I'm curious to know if the same scanning and tuning software for the thirdgens will work for his setup, are the proms the same, etc. He's tweaked about writing his own chips and we wants to know if he can use the software & hardware that I'm using. Thanks in advance for any info.

As far as i know, yes the 93 LT1 is Speed Density. But i thought the computers were fully programmable(not requiring proms). I think you will probly need the LT1_edit software and what not to "tweak" his car. The only reason i know a little bit about this is because i was doing ALOT of research about the LT1's when i had my old RS.
Hope that helps. You may want to check out www.camaroz28.com or some other FBODY sites in general for ecm programming info.

The '93 F-body is the odd-ball since it was the only 4th-gen with SD and a removable PROM. I think they also still had the non-electronic 4L60 tranny since the 4L60E is controlled by the PCM (note that it's -Powertrain- Control Module). TunerCat might have a .tdf file for it, but I'm not sure. I think they might use a "bigger" chip than the 27C256, maybe the 27C512.

278s (92-93) LT1 used the 27C256 also.
