TBI data stream

I would like to know what software the majority of you use to pull data from your TBI computer systems. I have read Traxion's tech article a few times and I am trying to get ready to burn my first prom. I have decided to go with Tuner Cat for the editing software. I may be swayed into winbin but their info was too vague. I have visited Diacom and Ease's website. I like Ease but they are both EXPENSIVE. Craigs software won't work on TBI and I can't get AKM Electronics to return my email. Last question. I know my truck should have the 1227747 computer in it and my 91 RS should have the 1228746. I have read that people run the 1227747 in their cars that had 1228746 to begin with because of more files and info available for 1227747. Is this true? Drop in replacement? Benefits/Drawbacks? Thanks guys.

Stick with your 8746. If you are going to go with Tunercat then you have as many editing options with the 8746 as you would with the 7747. Plus the 8746 has a couple extra tables. From what I understand TC has completely updated the TDF file since the hack of the 8746 came out.

http://www.turbo-link.com/ has one that will work on the 7747, possibly work on the 8746 since he lists the 89-90 Caprice.
