More EBL questions
I have a bunch of questions, please bear with me..
First of all, I have read through all the documentation and the entire web site and I still cant figure out what most of the readings and indicators are on the Whats Up display and how to read them. If its there I must be really missing something because I printed everything out and spent hours reading through it. the Whatsup.html file is helpful, but not complete in this respect.
Secondly, I've got my EBL in and running, and I did about 7 VE learn sessions in my driveway then another 2 slowly driving out around town a couple miles. The car has definitely run better, but I dont know my next step regarding these, as stated in the EBL Information HTML file:
I've examined every one of these in TunerPro, and the only one that made sense to me the was Displacement Scalar, it was set at 305 so I changed it to 350. As for the rest, I either dont even know what the value means, or if I do know what it means I have no way of knowing what it should be set at for my engine, and I do not know how to find out.
Any help would be great!
PS - Where can I get a TBI-specific Fuel Pressure Guage?

The bin provided (EBL.BIN) is a basic calibration. It is from an 1985 Camaro LG4 engine with a 350 TBI unit and intake manifold. The transmission is a TH350, no lockup. Unless your engine/transmission is the same there are changes that will need to be made to the bin. If you have a current bin use that for setting these and other calibration values.
Here is a list of parameters that should be set. The titles are directly from the ECU file, and are further explained in the EBL_Calibration document.
* Number Cylinders(6=192 8=0)
* BARO - Max RPM for read. If the engine is far from stock set this to 0. Then at a later data enable the baro read and calibrate the tables.
* VE Table - Low Speed. Maybe change, maybe not. Can try it as is and run AutoTune on it.
* VE Table - High Speed
* TCC - Enable TCC calculations (0 = stick trans). Reset bit is a manual transmission is in use
* HiWy - Min MPH to enter HiWay mode. Set to 255 if want to disable highway lean cruise mode.
* AirFlow - displacement scalar
* SA - Initial SA
* SA - Idle State SA
* SA - Main Table
* SA - Extended table
* INJ - Injector Correction offset. If running high fuel pressure these values may need to be increased.
* INJ - Async Multiplier. Will need to be changed if running other then an 8 cylinder engine.
* BPC - BPC vs VAC. Very Important. Set this table properly before trying to start the engine.
* RPM fuel Cutoff. May want to check these values. No fun hitting a limiter.
* RPM fuel Resume
* RPM SA Reduction
* MPH fuel Cutoff

The engine is also VERY hard to start when cold. It requires all kinds of finesse of the gas pedal to even get it to "catch", then once it does catch I have to hold the gas for about 20 seconds as the engine runs like crap shaking the whole car around. Sometimes it will stall when I take my foot off the gas and I have to do the whole thing over again, and other times when I take my foot off the gas it will putter down to where it almost stalls, then runs like crap until it starts warming up, at which point it smooths out.
(sorry, for some reason these damn forums wouldnt let me edit my post)

Sounds like your WAY RICH take some fuel out of the CRANK-AFR table for what ever the Temp is that you are starting at.
You have your BPW set right, right.
After it's running if it's chuging that would be the CHOKE-AFR table.

The BPC value is important, it is the ratio of engine displacement vs. injector flow rate. With the 90's and a relatively stock 350, set the fuel pressure to 11.5-12 psi.
At that setting the BPC table should be set to:
90#/hr * 453.6 / 3600 = 11.34 gms/sec
5.7l / 8 = 0.7125 l per cylinder
BPC = 1461.5 * (0.7125 / 11.34)
= 92
Set the entire BPC vs Vacuum table to 92.
That will help (a lot) with the starting and VE tuning.
The AE (Acceleration Enrichment) is PW based. So that will need to be reduced. Go through the Delta TPS% AE and Delta MAP AE tables and reduce each entry by 20%. That will get you close.
After setting the fuel pressure to 11.5 - 12 psi, you will need to re-do the VE Learning again. If you left the BPC at the original 135, then the VE tables are now going to be lean. It may be best to start with the stock EBL VE tables.
RBob.
P.S. would you happen to have the numbers or color code off the top of the injectors?

I can get the numbers off if you want, but if you just want to double check that they're 90s they are. I already pulled off the number and googled it and searched these boards with it.
