Diacom-p, Datamaster and a 92 Z-28
Diacom-p, Datamaster and a 92 Z-28
I had been using Diacom-P on my Typhoon for quite a while. I don't use very much anymore because I am using Datamaster. I never tried it on my bone stock 92 Z-28 (5.0) until today. Here is my question.
The computer hooks up to the ecm and shows realistic data on the screen while collecting the data. When I go to read the file, the screen values are realistic. But when I try and graph some values, everything looks almost flat lined. The same file read by Datamaster shows DTC's all over the place and off the wall readings.
Any suggestions?

there are over 500 ALDL different displays of info. So using the datamaster to look at the Z's info will read odd.
The graph display in Diacom + can be odd appearing compared to some other software since the displays vary according to the max values, (Hmm or was that direct scan)
If after studing it more if it don't make sense send me a copy, and I'll try to find time to look at it

Sorry about to screw up on the reply (I'm not used to this board yet).
I have been successfully using Diacom-P for over a year on my Typhoon. I had never tried it before on the Z. (It is a garage queen vert that very seldom gets called to battle.)
I purchased Datamaster last year for the Typhoon and have been using it ever since. As you probably know, the Datamaster program is engine specific. But I have used it to analyze the earlier Typhoon Diacom files.
Yesterday I downloaded the Datamaster program for the F body 92 5.0. to my desktop. I haven't yet loaded it to the laptop. It is free but only allows 20 data collects. I wanted to use Diacom on the Z as I had with the Ty. Collect data w/ Diacon, analyze on Datamaster before purchasing the full program.
The Camaro's .gdf files are reading strangely on Diacom and Datamaster. While I am collecting the data from the Z, all of the data on the display looks like reality (on Diacom). But when trying to graph out comparative values in Diacom, I get the flat line stuff.
Reading the same file in the F body version of Datamaster show very much the same thing. I would be more than happy to send you a copy of the file in question so you can see what I mean.

Problem Solved -
Installed Datamaster on the laptop. All is right with the world. Works perfectly.
I guess Diacom will soon be history for me.
