IF i go the ARAP route...
IF i go the ARAP route...
I am running a 165 ecm using $32B in an 88 iroc with a heavily modified drivetrain, 355 with auto tranny on 94 octane.
I am not happy with my base file. By scanning the web I found out my last tuner got it from the diy bin board. It is a slightly modified version of the 87GTA350.bin file. I checked all the tables and it has too many coincidental anomalies not to have been the base file for my current setup.
My car also seems to have a tendency to overheat if i get caught in traffic even in 20 degree celcius weather - possible lean condition. I have not had a chance to hook up my recently acquired EASE s/w when this happens - but i will the week after next.
After reading hundreds of posts i can't understand why some tables have not been changed from the 87GTA350 file and mine e.g. BPW Fuel vs Load as well as some anomalies like this Injector PW Correction vs Battery Voltage table where usec added reads as 641, 641, 641, 6928, 6928 2899, 1801 etc
Hence I am very interested to see what is in the 6E mask and also interested to see the ARAP version.
I am going to purchase the TC 6E file this week.
My question: If I like what I see do I have to purchase a GM 6E carrier/memcal and chip to run in the future? If I buy one i need two. One for backups of the old copy to run and one for new configs.
Yes No ??? I don't think i can just buy blank chips, burn 'em and drop them in my current carrier/memcal.

However, keep in mind that you will need to modify the MemCal with a ZIF socket, use a HyperTech adapter, or burn the image directly to your MemCal EPROM.
