Quick Question, how are numbers arranged on 9 and 25 pin com port cables?

Quick Question, how are numbers arranged on 9 and 25 pin com port cables?
Kind of a dumb question, but I don't want to wire things wrong. How do the numbers (in all the diagrams I see) correspond to the pins on 9 and 25 pinouts? I assume it is like this (for 9-pin)?
