Ease Scantool users - knock retard/MAF solution

I was finding that when I cionnected to the tool using the 89 Vette signal set(I have a modified ARAP chip), that I wasn't getting good info on the MAF or knock retard. I spoke with Ease and they just sent me an update that appears to have fixed these problems. You can contact:

What is the date on the CD with the fix?

I have gotten 3 different updates since I bought the software in March of 2000.

Since mine is now out of warranty or free upgrades I believe I would like to check into it before calling

It didn't come on a cd. They e-mailed me the file. When I spoke to Susan today, she mentioned that GM hadn't supplied them with the right parameters with regards to the knock retard. She put the fix together using assumption taken from paremeters that worked in other signal sets. What I am going to have to do when I can find the time is due a back to back test with another scantool that definitely gives the right information. (My mechanic has a snap on scanner)

Since you are using the 730 ECM Jeff, this might not apply to you. Are you getting anything from your scantool relating to knock retard? I found it weird that I was the first person supposedly who brought this to their attention. She said it was ok if I e-mailed it to others so if you want it, I'll send it to you. Keep in mind, it's not a new version, it's just a fix so that these parameters reflect properly.

Let me know.
Regards,
Glenn

I'm also interested in this update. Does it ADD the paramter called "knock retard"? I do not have that parameter currently. I have the latest version of the scan tool. I scan my stock '165 ECM, with only 1 signal set available. I have worked with Susan on other issues. I may email or call her myself.

Mike,

Yes it does. Mine was reporting 0 and I didn't believe that was possible given my setup and what I've read about L98's.

Jeff- I will e-mail it to you

Glenn
