Need to know where to start??

I just finally finished my adapter the other day for my vehicle (88 Iroc with 165) I am using the free software that Craig Moates made. I really like the software. One thing I ran into when driving the real time display stops sometimes, then if you just leave it, it will start again, but it will come back instantly if you just hit the key of the page you are on currently (ie. page 1-9) I drive around for sometime last night and took 2 logs, some part throttle cruising. Since I am new to this I have no idea what these numbers mean. Can anyone suggest some good reading materials that explains what everything is like BLM course & fine, and all the other numbers on the log files.

I have yet to find any really good books on the subject. I have found that the "papers" at DIY-EFI.ORG and the past posts on this Board are probably the greatest sources of information on specific things. Try doing a search on a "keyword" or just start reading from the oldest post to the most recent with the display set to 1 year.

Most of the books I have found on EFI are rather generic. They explain the basic concepts and sensors, but they don't get into the detail, as they are addressing a much broader market. How GM handles EFI within it's own cars varies greatly, let alone how Chrysler and Ford does it.

One place to do a little reading is on "Microprocessors" and "Assembly Language Programming" as this is the "ultimate" in burning your own eprom - actually modifying the Source Code that you "reverse engineer". It's a LOT of work and I have not found too many guys that have done this (reverse engineer the Source Code) that share this information due to all the work they have put into it to develop the Source Code.

If you have an ECM that is similar to one of the publicly available "hacs", it can greatly assist you in developing Source Code.

By the way, what does your Speed Shop actually do and sell?
