870-165-gear ratio

OK guys,

Got sick of the 870 So im putting in the 165. But I have a problem now and im wondering if its going to compound with the new ecm/memcal. My car had 3.42's origanally and now is running 3.73's, I've noticed since looking into prom burning that you can burn in your AXLE ratio and I know that it isnt' for your speedometer, so what is it for? and how can the difference in axle ratio without the prom knowing about it negativly effect my drivability? Basically I have a spark knock at higher rpms and im wondering if its because of the 3.73's, thanks!

WHere do you change the ratio? I am going to be changing my gears soon and I have not seen where to set the ratio

I am using the ARAP.bin $6e

Appears i was wrong, the difference is the timing curve. Numerically higher gears = less load/more timing. etc.
