I didn' think this was possible...
I read in the DIY archives that any open-element air filter bigger than 1" was too big. Huh, mine is 2.5", so I set out to try the remedy. It was said that you can compensate by making the Pumpshots bigger. So I did and the cavitataing noise is gone, and the lag is gone too. Now my BLM is at 117-120 range mainly at 2000 RPM from 30-60 KPa. BUT, the INT is fine!?!? When I get on it real hard, the BLM goes down to 117, the INT is at 126. Then after a while the BLM starts to come back up again to around 120-123. I have read and understand the (INT-128)*.23 articles. I thought the INT "moved" the BLM. On average, low INT will pull the BLM down, so I thought.
What to do?

I doubt that any air filter bigger than 1" is too big. Concerning the INT/BLM relationship, in the TPI bins, it takes an INT of +/-5 away from 128 to make the BLM change. So, if your INT is between 123 and 133, the BLM won't change. It didn't change when you got on the gas because you were in Power Enrichment (aka: WOT, but can happen as low at 50% throttle) and the BLM is not updated in P.E.
