Swapping the '88 TBI computer for an 1228746
I'm about to swap these computers out. My car is not equipped with the VATS system. Is there a non-VATS prom that I can get for this computer? If there isn't, how do I turn it off in C.A.T.S.? I've gone to the "ECM switch table" and CATS comes back telling me that they're aren't any switches on this ECM. One last thing, these computers will swap without any other conflicts, no wire changes, no problems, right?

Anybody ever figure this one out?
I thought I read somewhere that you did not need to cut any wires. Something about how the 7747 will plug right in place of the 8746. I think Pablo told me a while back.
Real quick, what does it take to go from an 88 TBI ecm to the 8746? Do you need to cut any wires and change things around?

I have done both, installed a 8746 in place of the 8063 and istalled the 7747 they just plug and play. My C.A.T.S. shows a switch table and I just remove the VATS. Of course the ANLU prom has no VATS(from '89 Caprice).
But that is a "350".
