8D Open Loop Question

I've got my car tuned pretty good. In fact when in closed loop and warm, I got it to idle pretty good. When it's cold, I believe it needs more fuel. In the "Loop Open % Change AFR Vs. Temp.", do I need to increase those values cold to get it run richer or decrease it?

Thanks.

higher numbers are more fuel. You can do the calculations...

7% = .07
11%=.11 (etc.)

14.7 x 1.07 = 15.7 This is the estimated AFR for a 7% change (7 in the table)

14.7 x 1.11 = 16.3 and so on...

Hi!!

just a question...

an AFR of 14.7 means, 14.7kg of Air are mixed with 1 kg fuel...thats stoich..

when you calculate like above, that means, eg. 15.7kg of Air for 1 kg fuel..so its going to be lean...

so, larger numbers means less fuel, or im completely wrong now?

regards

Calc is in reverse. Should not be adding to the air side of the equation.
Positive values will add fuel by REDUCING the AFR.

Long night there AtomicTruck ?

my BAD!!!

7% would be 1 - .07 = .93 Which would be .93 x 14.7 = 13.7 AFR

Besides the brain fart... the larger the number in the table the richer the mix.

Sorry

Wierd.

I just started an edit on my post but decided to just leave and clicked the back button. Then it looked like my post wasn't there. So I started to retype it but looked below the post window and it was there. Hmmm.

Thanks JP86SS. Yes, sometimes I stay up too late. I can read a few, post a few and when I look at the clock it is 1 am before I know it.
