EBL, New use!

It is controlling my 3.1 TBI GMC Jimmy. The little V6 maybe short on HP/TQ, but man does the thing have GREAT throttle response. It has half the rotating mass of say a 305/350. It has a lighter flexplate, lighter torque converter, lighter balancer, and all the internal parts are lighter. The stroke is also pretty short at 3.31" and it has 5.7 rods for a good rod/stroke ratio.

The thing has a tunnel ram style intake, 4.3 TBI unit, 4.3 injectors, and an open element. Notice the MAP is actually 92 KPA @ 100% TPS and about 5,000 RPM. That is about 450+ CFM worth of flow.

I still need to revisit the Spark Correction vs. Coolant table because it has WAY TOO much timing when it is cold and pings sharply if you stab the gas, then again 40+* of timing in the higher MAPs will do that.

It is just begging for forced induction. Especially since I am having the 700r4 rebuilt with V8 clutch packs, performance frictions, Kevlar band, etc after killing it yesterday evening.

RBob, I guess I lied on the A/C rewiring part for this change-over. All I had to do was flip the A/C output state flag and it started working correctly. I also revisited the Spark Latency Correction table and edited my mistakes. Funny that I had the decimal version sitting right in front of me, but made those two mistakes when I converted to USEC. Long day, LOL.

Attached are a few pertinent screen shots from playing around in the driveway this morning before sending it on the wrecker to the transmission shop. I am too busy this next week to pull a 4x4 transmission and build it.

#1 shows the engine rev from 1,800-5,600 in about 1/2 second.
#2 show the sensor readings at 5,450 RPM
#3 shows the approximate fuel consumption after messing around and letting the engine idle with the A/C on for 10 minutes. About .13 gallons. At that rate in 1 hour it would use about 3/4 of a gallon. My 350 uses that much at idle not touching the gas pedal. I was stomping the pedal at times trying to tune the AE.

It IS already installed in my GMC. It makes approximately 210 Flywheel HP @ 5,500 and maybe 180 TQ @ 4,000. Runs very strong for what it is. The build is documented here.

It killed the high mileage 700r4 about 1,500 miles after putting it in. I built a replacement 4L60E from a 1994 Camaro to put into it. Used a 4x4 output shaft and tailhousing from a 1993 GMC Jimmy 4x4. Bolted right in. Piggybacked a TBI PCM to run it.
