Nagging code 32
Im trying to disable my EGR on a ARAP bin. Ive set the following..
1st: I tried jsut Disable EGR if MAT < X set to 304.25
Still got a 32
2nd I set EGR Enable if TPS > X & EGR Duty Cycle=0 and EGR Enable if TPS > X & EGR Duty Cycle!=0 both to 99.61 %TPS
Still got a code 32
2rd I set EGR Enable if TPS > X & EGR Duty Cycle=0 and EGR Enable if TPS > X & EGR Duty Cycle!=0 both to 0 %TPS
and I still get a 32.
I have also zero'd out the EGR Duty Cycle vs LV8 and RPM table.
Any other ideas? Im going mental

On AUJP and AXXC and AXYC I just set the min temp to enable EGR to max (150* C if I remember correctly) and min speed to enable to 255mph

As vern suggested there are some settings that you can do to set the EGR off. However, I have found that if an eprom is not erased long enough (or if it has been reprogrammed too many times), that I will get the EGR SES light to come on.
Also, try setting off the EGR Diagnostic switch.

Im using a AT29c256 chip.. would that still apply? My spare chip isnt working so I cant test that theory.
Where is the EGR diagnostic switch? Im not seeing that using the $6e mask in Tunerpro.
Thanks!

I don't use or know Tunerpro.
But I can describe it in machine code. The diagnostic for code 32 is a "bit switch". It is found at hex address C1DE bit3 (4th from the right - bit0 being the right most and bit7 being the left most).
As for the 'erasing' issue, that is with regular eproms, not the AT29C256. However, I have just heard about one of those actually "burning out" recently. Got a spare to try?

Location in ARAP is LC208 and startup skip at LC206
Add it to your XDF definition if needed.
Set LC206 to 1, to skip the restart test.
Set LC208 to max 255, to skip the error and should be good to go.
Code:
LC206 FCB 94 ; If COOL >= 30.5c, (87f), Skip Strt up ERR #32
; CALIB = (deg c + 40) * (256/19)
LC208 FCB 173 ; If Cool < 89.8c, (194f), Disable ERR #32
; CALIB = (deg c + 40) * (256/192) Set LC206 to 1, to skip the restart test.
Set LC208 to max 255, to skip the error and should be good to go.

JP, that's not the EGR Diagnostic switch that I'm talking about. You are talking about the location of the Temp Enable/Disable constant which vern discussed and I ASSUME lock has tried but is not working.

True, He didn't know the location of the temp disable so if he changed it there there's no need to turn off the switch.
Lock,
Grap a copy of the hac file, it'll help you in the long run.

Well I loaded up tunercat and set the switch there. I didnt get a chance to run the car though.
Where is the hack file? Is it a hacked xdf for Tunerpro?

You should try and disable the EGR as suggested by JP. What JP suggested is the proper way to disable the EGR. If you have TunerCat, there is a couple of "constants" that disable the EGR based on MAT Temp....and they SHOULD stop the EGR from functioning. If it doesn't, then I suspect the bin you have may be corrupted (which can cause the EGR diagnostic to come on)
Your tune is affected on whether the EGR is functioning or not. The fix I suggested just turns off the diagnostic indicator. It's a lot like pulling the light bulb out - it hasn't fixed the problem, it just hides it.
In all respects, it is best to track down why this EGR diagnostic coming on when it shouldn't be functioning at all.
I would start with a known GOOD version of the ARAP and just try disabling the EGR to see if it goes off. And then, redo it for the various modifications you did "one at a time" (in case one of them is the cause of the problem).
FYI, if you have TunerCat, a trick you can use to transfer tables is either via a "compare" and then set the differences to zero...or just copy a table from one bin to an Excel Spreadsheet and copy it to another bin.
