EBL, how do I get started?
Hey guys, I have finally decided to jump into the world of tuning and I need a hand.I want to use the EBL for my tbi. What else is good to use with it?From what I can gather the ostrich is a must for this.I don't want to keep having to buy chips so I think the emulator is the right way to go.So what is a good combo to use?

An Ostrich is not required, but it is very convenient for making rapid, repeated tuning updates. You can accomplish the same net result by reprogramming a chip, it's just more time consuming. If you use the suggested eprom chip, you need to buy only one chip. Eproms can be erased and reused with ease, the only catch is that you have to remove it from the ECU to reprogram it. This can be simplified by using a ZIF socket.
I opted for both an emulator and a burner so I could run on a chip during the times I'm using the emulator on a second vehicle. I also run a chip during extended periods when I don't plan to do any tuning so I'm not dependant on the emulator batteries / ribbon cable / etc.
