EBL/WUD light show
Decided I'd take it on a test run with it hooked up to the WUD since it was running. Speedo on the WUD was pegged and the RPMs didn't register, had a crazy high BLM a few other wacky things and I see every time I hit the gas the SES light shows on the WUD (occasionally flashing briefly on the dash) so I pull up the service code window in the WUD and it was flashing randomly 90% of the lights. Turned off my car thinking that it was just a loose wire in the ecm and then proceeded to snug them up and now the car won't even start. Just a loose wire or has me EBL bit the dust?

Can you get the laptop to connect at all to the ECM? Almost sounds like an error in or reading the chip or loss of power.

I can get it to connect, it reads a few things just fine like the battery voltage and spark advance, maybe a few other things too but can't remember.

Just a WAG, but it sounds like a fault in the EBL board, or the MPU keeps wiping out from a fault in the prom or a problem reading the prom if its not scanning properly and giving an intermittent SES. Do you still have the checksum enabled?

Don't remember which checksum you're talking about but I haven't changed any ECM settings in quite a while, been more focused on getting my car driveable for more than a week at a time.

Make sure the mask ID is not set to AA. This will cause the checksum to be ignored and any errors on the prom wont be flagged. The checksum is a sum of all the bytes on the prom. If some are corrupt, the checksum wont match the prom, and youll get a flashing SES. No checksum check and the ECM could be crashing due to faulty data.
