Closed loop with smog delete
Closed loop with smog delete
Was unsure if I should post this in ECM or DIY, but was wondering if there is a way to get the stock ECM to run closed loop without burning? Deleted the smog to make room for the turbo and didn't know if there is a way to possibly short, resist, send signal to the ECM via the smog pump wires.
I guess what I want to know is what signal is being sent from the smog to ECM to cause a closed loop condition?

the ECM doesn't look for the AIR injection solenoids.
removing the AIR pump shouldn't affect closed loop as long as you capped the AIR injection fittings.
you may run a little rich or lean during the time the ECM thinks air is being injected into the exhaust manifolds during cold operation.
closed loop is mainly controlled by a timer which is set in the chip, engine temp, & the O2 sensor. sometimes idle or vehicle speed has an effect on closed loop, if im wrong on this for your car, im sure someone will point it out.

That's the answer I was looking for! You confirmed my suspisions, just seems like everyone who talks about their car with the smog delete says "I'm in stuck in open loop".
