ready to get wet

i've been thinking about doing my own chips for some time i was originally planning to buy the APU1 usb prob package from moats but upon reading a little more and thinking about my bank account....well ok my wife was whining about the cost, low and behold read a little more and started looking into the Ostrich fro RT emu and the BURN1 to burn with with a few adapters and some flashable ROM chips, the only differences that i can see between the APU1 vs. the Ostrich/BURN1 it that the APU1 can datalog/burn in one unit and the Ostrich cannot......... I currently have 5 gasser trucks that i will be doing so the ostrich won't be staying in any of them. Should i get a datalog system as well?cos if i do get a datalog system it's even more $$ then the APU1 this is the only part that is cornfuzing me BTW the APU1 says it's out of stock or on backorder....eeek

I had been watching the APU1 on backorder for a while. After contacting Craig, I went ahead and ordered it. He got one out to me pretty quickly.

Only if you want to be somewhat serious, nothing beats datalogging for seeing where you are, and where you've been like datalogging.
It'll be cost effective in engine life, and fuel savings.

If you have a very good intuative feel for how everything works, you can get by without datalogging all the time, but if your just starting out, datalogging is a must. Youll be guessing otherwise.
