165 ECM with Speed Density Signal?

Short question concerning the 165 ECM....
Is it possible to replace the MAF with a MAP and to reprogram the EPROM in a way that it will work with the MAP signal output instead of the MAF-output signal?

The motor is a L98....

Thanks in advance

But if you do the SD conversion, use the $12 code, not the $5d code because you'll have 8192 baud ALDL.

Are you looking for a $5D bins or a particular prom editor's calibration/definition for the $5D?

For bins, go here:
--> ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/pub/gmecm/bin_lib/

For the definitions for Tuner Cat, go here:

Thanks Grim Reaper I had a look. But no $12 defn for 1227808 ECU I would like to stick with 8192 baud!

I am using Tunerpro and can get the $12 definition, does anybody have the aldl definition for the 165 ECM (not available at the Tunerpro web site)?

Otherwise, I will need to purchase Tunercat!

Go to the Moates site and the ECUs downloads. Locate the 16183082 ECUs and try the biggest file. PM me if that doesn't work. click here

For datalogging, the simplest thing is to download an evaluation copy of EFILive V4 from the EFILive web site. Use the Holden VR68VS8 file. You need a MAX232 cable for this, or a good USB cable like MichaelGW sells for cheap on the Just Commodores web site, or scantool@gmail.com. BTW, USB is easier to get to work with this than serial.

HTH,

John

I re-visted moates site, via your link and found: 16183082.zip File Size: 1.91 KB Last Modified: Jan 14, 2007 at 3:19 pm at:

I will try the EFIlive4 scan software, thanks.

Do you have a bin I can use with: 16183082 version 2d.ecu File Size: 199.55 KB Last Modified: Jan 14, 2007 at 3:28 pm?

Thanks John.

Try the attached zip file that contains BLCF.

This $12 binary is for a VR 304 cu.in. Holden PFI engine with no knock sensor. It has 19lb/hour injectors, so you'll have to change KINJFLOW to suit your injector size and capacity in proportion.

Re: 165 ECM with Speed Density Signal?

Hi John,

I tried Tunerpro with BLCF5084.bin and "16183082 $12 version 2d.ecu" but I get discrepancies eg:

should I try another ecu file? Thanks, Joe

Looks like the bin your opening is corrupt. I gave it a shot with a stock BLCF and it looked fine.
