New guy to tuning

Hello all!! I have a 87 formula 305 tpi. It is a 5 speed car with 3.08 gears in the back. It has the 165 computer in it. Mom and dad bought it new in 87. And have sence aloud me the privilege of owning it. It has a stock motor with 219,000 miles on it. And I race it. well in the search for more power I am going to try the programming thing. So far I have the following

g1 chipcarrrier
ostrich
wb o2 and tunerpro rt

What is the best stock bin to start with for tuning my car? And the right .xdf and .ads files so I can get started Any help would be great. I dont know whether to go with the $6e or the 32b

Thanks
Greg

Re: New guy to tuning

You can either use your stock bin that is with your car or upgrade to the $6E (which is better defined). I note that your car is a 305 5-speed, so the ARAP bin (which many guys with MAF like) will not be the best $6E to work with as it is intended for an automatic.

For $6E 1989, 305 5-speed with 3.08s, the APYS & APYX were for Federal and APYW for California.
