What operating system is on the laptop? Do you have the drivers installed for the Ostrich? Does the operating system recognize the Ostrich?

Operating system is windows XP, Windows 2000, etc.

To datalog, you only need the OBD-1 connector ran to your laptop. If you want to load tunes, then you will need the laptop to read the Ostrich.

I think you need to contact the guy at www.moates.net . I have used the Ostrich with WinXP and Win98 with no problems after installing the drivers from here:
http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=66

But I dont know if they will work with WinME.

Millennium sucks. Regardless, you need to install the Ostrich drivers first. The version for '98 and Millennium is here:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/Win98/R10906.zip

Download, unzip, and right click on the .inf files and select "install" for each one (3 total I think).
