WBO2 installed...now I'm confused..

Hooked up my LC-1 to my 730 ECM, running s_aujp V4, using TunerproRT....I set the flag at location 2000, WB OPT1 B5.
I hooked up the wbo2 output to Pin F-14 so I did not set any other flags.

So, the wbo2 is on the drivers side, the NB to the ECM is on the passenger side.

My BLMs are reading low, while the wbo2 afr is reading in the 19 to 20 range....
for example, at idle BLM (main) at 96, and the AFR reads 19.5??? What the heck?

Make sure all the other wideband bits are unchecked the code picks up whichever one it sees first and uses it.

By chance did you hook to the 1-2 volt signal or the 0-5 volt wideband signal?

Re: WBO2 installed...now I'm confused..

Did not set any other wb bits....I was pretty sure, but I just checked. I've got the simulated NB going to a gauge and it reads the same as the WB going to ECM (relatively).
I'm starting to suspect the NB Sensor on the passenger side...could that be?

I've got spare NB sensors...I'll swap it out tomorrow.

What's the purpose of the LED? It's always lit? I did the cal purge in fresh air before putting the wb sensor in....so what's the LED telling me?

The led flashes until the O2 heater is up to temp, then stays on. tells you its ready to go, if it flashes all the time somethings wrong. also a way to get error codes from it by counting the flashes.

Check what you have the LC-1 output scale set for using the Innovate software.
Then set the bin to use the range its programmed for.
Bit 5 uses the 1-2 volt range.
"Raw" setting can use the 0-5 volt range.
Then check which selection in TP you are looking at.
All three must be setup properly to get the reading so the scales are correct.

Ok, so the LED being on continuously is good. Thanks. I've got the contraption installed in the car now.
JP86ss, You kinda lost me there where you told me to "set the bin to the range it's progammed for." Set what? Do you mean I should reprogram the LC1?

And, what do you mean to "check which selection in TP you are looking at."? I'm a little bit lost.

Re: WBO2 installed...now I'm confused..

Well, I swapped out the narrow band O2 sensor with another one...it's not as good as the first one, but still reads in the same opposite direction as compared to the wbO2. I'm suspecting that the drivers side may not be firing a cylinder and that's why the wbo2 reads LEAN (edited: it does read LEAN).

I'll have to check on the plugs firing during the week.

I can do that or swap the wide band to the passenger side and the n.b. to the drivers side...if the same thing happens then I'll be pretty sure if a cylinder isn't firing. It'll be a pain to get all that wiring from under the dash.....

I just meant to have you check what the LC-1 output is programmed to do.
Some had a default setup of 1 to 2 volts in which case you would use the "bit 5" selection in the bin file and the WB AFR display in TP.

If the LC-1 is programmed to output 0 to 5 volts then you can use the "Raw" setting in the bin and the "RAW" display in TP

Remember that it is an Oxygen sensor, not a combustion sensor.
A misfire will read lean because of excess o2.
A burned mixture will have no oxygen left in it.

Re: WBO2 installed...now I'm confused..

Good point on the O2 sensor..I was discombobulated...thanks for that.
SO, the misfire would be reading lean on the driver's (wbO2) side....and it is.

I've got to go get a USB to Serial adapter to check the LC-1 values...so it'll probably be later in the week...I'll do it in the car, don't want to unstring all those leads.
I may swap sensor sides just for the information.
Thanks for all the pointers...much appreciated.

OK...I get it....

According to the Innovate documentation the wb output is programmed for 0-5v.

1. So I will mark the BIN "SET" at Location 2001, WB OPT 2, bit 0, RAW A/D OUTPUT)and......
2. then I will unmark the BIN Innovate location (Location 2000, WB OPT 1, b5, Innovate LC-1 (1-2V))....
3. and just read the raw data directly on TunerproRT.

...that way at least I can find out if everything is working fine (before I start chasing down misfiring cylinders).

Does that make sense?
