where to adjust fuel

Hey guys,

Couple quick questions. First the car: I have a 1951 Ford I have a 400 small block with a tuned port on top. Running 24lb svo injectors. The cam is comp cam with a lift of .488 intake and .495(the cam is a fuel injection cam) exhaust. I am Having trouble creating any real power. two seperate transmission shops have told me the car is breaking up and the motor is not pulling through. I was running the factory eprom. I changed the cylinder volume to match the 400 and changed the injector pulse width to 24lb injectors. The motor would break up when the car would get to 4,000 rpm and the tranny would not know where to shift too. I have changed and downloaded a Street and Performance chip that is supposed to be for big motors and it seemed to be a lot better. I changed the cylinder volume and injector pulse in that chip as well but still have some fuel problems. with the new chip i need to turn off the egr constant. does anyone know where to do this? And also I would like some advise on were to go to start adding more fuel to the car. (oh i should have said I have the moates tuner pro)
please let me know what you think
Thank you
Trever

Re: where to adjust fuel

First if you have a stock TPI intake on your 400" it isnt helping it, TPI intake dont like high rpm's. A diffrent intake would really wake the engine up, but it depends on where you want the power and what heads/cam you have.

EGR: there is a min temp for EGR enable
Fuel: adding more fuel where? idle/part throttle, cruise, acceleration, or WOT. read here under 730 there are some good stuff about tuning. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...uide-book.html

More info about setup and scan results would help guiding you.

Re: where to adjust fuel

Read the stickey abot tuning 730 8D ECM and you will see what tables to change and what they do. I think you need to start from the beginng with the tune.

1 Basic changes(cyl/vol, inj size, idle speed and so on...)
2 Ve tables and SA table, idle/easy driving getting the BLM "close" and a timing table that the engine likes.
3 AE and wot fueling

As much info as possible
