warm up and idle speed
I'm slow walking toward doing my own tuning. You're all probably familiar with the TBI startup/warmup procedure - takes about a minute to idle down to where I feel comfortable shifting into gear. Even after warmup it idles 100RPM higher than I'd like (about 750) for creep at stop lights. These things easy to fix by tunuig? Thanks.

Re: warm up and idle speed
Not on your stock TBI ECM. Sorry.
See the sticky Tuning Guide Book, Chap 5, '8063/'8746/'7747 section, IAC Logic. In prk/neut there is no set idle speed. And then even when 'in-drive' the CTS needs to be above a set threshold. It's ugly.
If a lower temperature thermostat is in place controlled idle speed may never be achieved.

Re: warm up and idle speed
Absolutely. Night & day difference in the IAC routines. IAC crank position is tuneable for engine temperature. This eliminates excess flair on start up. Controlled idle speed in park/neutral and in-drive. Two idle speed tables, one for park/neutral and the other for in-drive. These are based on engine coolant temperature. Controlled idle speed at all coolant temperatures.
A routine that lowers the IAC steps as the vehicle is moving and the engine is warming up. This prevents high initial idle speeds when the vehicle is brought to a stop. IAC bumps for A/C and fan on. Tuneable A/C on idle speed adder.
This area is one of the first things EBL users note. From crank to start to run the engine acts like it should. No muss, no fuss.
