Does anyone know what the minimum injector PW is for a TBI?

I am running a slighlty modified 350 TBI and my DC is hitting 96% on WOT. I am currently running 71# and at idle my PW is 1.3 msec. I have the WB installed and need to do some runs with it to see what is going on. PE is at 12.8, but I am tuning to 14.7 and need to change this to reflect 10% ethanol.

I am hoping I can bump up the pressure without running into idle problems. This question is a bit premature until I do that, but I want to think through the problems before I venture further. I am hoping I can avoid complications such as running a VAFPR.

 

It depends on the ECM. Some ECMs don't report the actual BPW sent to the injector. Does the PW you posted include open/close time and batt. correction?

 

I am using the EBL which provides all these. Using 7747.

 

Since the EBL is "copyrighted" then I can't comment on it. You need to talk to the vendor to find out what BPW it reports. If you were using a GM ECM with open code I could help.

 

Are you aware you can run OL at idle. That would allow a richer A/F idle(place in tables). also run "synch" only(disallow asynch entirely) which too will help idle quality.

 

TBI injectors run as low as 600 - 900 usec's (.6 - .9 msec) before they stop delivering fuel. Depends upon the inejctor size and fuel pressure. The reported sPW is as what is found at the injector.
