Hand Held Scanner Does Not Work.
Purchased Moates Burn1, GP1 adapter to program the prom. Used a similar bin file I received from another board member. When installed the scanner will not read the prom, the stock one is fine. Does this setup not work scanners?? And what is the buffer start and end values??

Re: Hand Held Scanner Does Not Work.
the buffer start and end values are where the bin are written to on the chip. if its not in the right place, the ECM will be in limp home mode, the check engine light will be locked on, the motor will run badly, & the scanner won't work.
if you have the right bin & put it where it needs to be, the scanner should work fine.
sorry, i can't help you with the addresses where you need to burn it to.

Re: Hand Held Scanner Does Not Work.
Thanks, I was thinking the scanner should work the same but was not sure. I used the values off of moates site chip is a 27SF512. Buffer start 000000 to 003FFF, chip start 00C000 to 00FFFF on 16K file size. Did I use the correct file size? If it will scan, it should at least start, that is my main objective now. I will get plugs, antifreeze in a week or two to get it started...
