Been trying to tune/datalog and having a few problems. I put in a moates G2 switching adapter and EX switch, stacked bins, etc, SES flickers. Someone told me to get the socket booster from moates so I did. Put it in...same result. So I took out the g2 and just used the socket booster and a single bin chip. All was well...datalogged. Had error 51 prom error but it connected to WinALDL. Logged and burned another chip with some minor mods and put it in. Flickering SES. Put the old one in...flickering SES. Tested all solder joints with meter to their circuits... all ok no shorts or missng any contacts. Also for the switching adapter I am not sure how to do the offsets. Using 4k bins and I want 4 positions used. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

A fast flashing SES is from the PROM checksum not being correct. This can also be caused by the PROM inserted backwards, bad connection or incorrect offsets on the burn.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I have checked the hardware and metered the connections and I am confident that its all good. I think I can disable the checksum on the chip by putting in AA in line 4. Is that correct? Any reason not to disable? Any way to confirm that the checksum is correct? $42 mask btw. Thanks.

You can disable the checksum, but then you wouldn't know if the burn was OK.

Tried copying original chip and burned that bin onto in (anlw) so that the checksum was the original value. Same result...flickering SES light. Anything I can do to test for a bad chip or component? Any other suggestions? I did email moates but they take a while to respond so nothing yet.
