Can closed loop ever run as good as open loop ?
The reason I ask is my 92 k1500 ( 5.7 with bolt ons ) runs so strong in the low to mid RPM ransge when cold but so so when warmed up in closed loop.
I can post some log files ......

It is the other way around. Closed loop is better than open loop. It sounds like your closed loop parameters need some tuning.

yup OL enrichment is compensating for need for better tune. When you say strong that suggests AE event with OL mode. You may see benefits from a datalog and see what you need to consider changing in fueling tables. I found that to be my case on my first tune. Fatten up the VE tables and work from rich to lean on BLMs. That gave me faster results. Take it easy on pedal till you have a handle on where you are.

Easy way to tell is data log at the same steady speed. Watch how much difference there is between open loop injector ms and closed loop ms.
My guess is you are a lot richer in open loop then in closed.
