zip adapter needed?? not sure ECM REMAN
My car is a 1991 Z28 l98 5.7 tpi bored .30 over, 3.73 gears, 30lb accell injectors, bored intake manifold, bored and polished plenum, bored, polished large tube runners, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, MSD 6a w/blaster coil
58mm throttle body, Comp Cams XR264HR camshaft, freshly rebuilt.
It's barely running I was told that I have to burn a custom PROM, and I was also told that I have to get a ZIF adapter. Just wanted to make sure. I pulled the Computer out of my computer, picture attatched. It says it was remanufactured in 1995 the chip says delco AUJP 1350
GM PART NUMBER 88999196 I am buying the chip burner already got the blank chips, but I have to make sure about this zif adapter tho.
If i do need it, where could I get it I checked Moates and was unsure.
I am a newbe at this, but I have no choice but to learn to burn a custom chip or my car won't run corrently Please help me.

Re: zip adapter needed?? not sure ECM REMAN
It's not a ZIF adaptor you need, it's a MEMCAL adaptor you need.
G1: http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=32
A ZIF adaptor is a Zero Insertion Force adaptor, and makes E/EPROM swaps easier and less prone to damaging the pins, it is highly recommended to use one just for that, especially if many E/EPROM swaps are expected.
ZIF: http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=44
Now you can get the G1 with a ZIF socket and 2 SST27SF512 EEPROMs in one package called the GP1: http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=41
Also read through the FAQ in this forum, it would answer questions like this.
