TunerProRT with Diacom cable?
TunerProRT with Diacom cable?
Is anyone using this combination? I've had DIACOM for a few years now, and only recently downloaded TunerProRT. I much prefer the looks of TunerPro over DIACOM, the fact that it uses the Windows environment, etc. However, I'm having problems connecting with the ECM through the DIACOM cable. Granted, the cable comes with an LPT1 connection, and TunerPro only has provisions for COM and USB ports. So, simple, I thought, just buy a 25 pin serial to 9 pin adapter, plug into the DIACOM cable and serial port on the laptop respectively. Not so simple, it turns out. Tuner still doesn't recognize there is a cable attached. I could instead buy an adapter cable, from the 25 pin DIACOM male to USB, and try connecting through the USB port. I don't know if I'll have better luck with that. If anyone has tried either of these variations before, or something else to get that cable to work, I'd appreciate the input.
