Open loop idle question
Open loop idle question
Can open loop idle be obtained using the S_AUJPV3 and TunerCat?
I have searched for three nights, and found multiple threads with no reply.
I have never needed this even with my 502 Ramjet, but I was thinking I might improve idle if I could keep it in open loop.

Re: Open loop idle question
I am simply amazed, Not one reply. A lot views which I would think there is a few people looking to see if there is a answer to the question.
I would think with all the grues in this community that one would step up and shed some light on this question that has been asked many times over the years in many posts that I have found that have 0 replies.
If there is a post that I have missed in my searches please post a link or share your thoughts.

While it does fix idle problems, it creates a new problem with off idle transitions. It's not for a daily driver, but works well on a track car.
Also, by looking at the PW, when you return to idle the ECM still applies the last known 'correction' assuming BLM wasn't 128.

Re: Open loop idle question
The S_AUJP V4 will allow OL idle by setting two variables that will be needed to be added to your TC definition.
The docs will explain the addresses needed for adding them.
There are two variables,
1 is a threshold where OL idle will operate (must be below to go OL)
1 is a threshold where CL will be enabled if all other parameters for CL are met.
The two should have a 200 RPM difference so you don't toggle in and out of OL or CL too quickly.
Use version V4a 1026 of the file and if using the Extended VE table, correct address definition should be $9A0 (typo in the supplied editor definition)
Use a compare program to transfer your existing parameters in.
Read the docs to be sure you understand all the available items and addresses needed for adding them into your editor definition and transferring your parameters to the new bin.

I haven't done any tuning in a long time and had the 502ss out last weekend and today and thought it was time to move my bin into the S_AUJP, and if possible improve the idle.
Well time to get to work.
Thanks
