hey guys im really really new to this, so with that said here i go. I just got done doing some work on my car (new injectors 24lb,exhaust,new accel wires,160 stat) and i want to tune it cause i know im not gettin all the power i should be without it, Now my Question is can someone give me some tips on what i should do, or if there is anyone out close by the Chattanooga,TN region i can go to and get it tuned any information is helpful and i dont mind drivin out somewhere near by but nothing to far thanks in advance

 

If you are planning to do mods to your car in the future, it will be well worth it to learn how to do your own tuning. I'm really new to tuning as well but after seeing all that really needs to go into a tune, I really doubt there is a shop that will give you a good one. But if you do learn how, the sky is the limit on what you can do with your car.

 

well here is the problem with that idea i dont know what i need or anything like that and im a bit tight on money at the moment i got 100 bucks left to spend

There are easier ways for you to do your own tuning (while you learn), while enjoying your car. Processors such as MegaSquirt would be ideal for someone, who, is new at tuning, but knows how to wire correctly. It comes with a tune for a 350-SBC, and is equipped with a self tune feature, in which you would command what a/f ratio you desire, and it will keep it there throughout. There's obviously more to tuning than just that, but it will at least get you started and on the road. I wouldn't pay anyone to tune my engine. There are some great tuners out there, yes, but if you want something done right, do it yourself....

You are better off learning the stock GM ECM tuning. In the end you will have a better understanding of what it takes to have a decent running vehicle. Along with having a better running vehicle when using the GM ECM.

I agree, especially when the changes are small like those, and the ECU is there already, and with little experience under your belt.

A wideband and some scanning software will help you get the most out of your car. Get a simple chip burner if you're low on cash, or a nice emulating device if you've got more available. Then let the bug catch you, and you'll be back here giving advice...

An aftermarket ECU is a simpler system overall, but you start from scratch almost. Starting from scratch with no experience is likely to cost you a lot of time, and possibly your engine. The stock ECU is working already, and just need to change a few numbers for the changes you've made.
