So am I retarded?

I am just now getting into prom burning and I have an '85 Z28 that I converted to a '165 ecm. I was lead to believe that the '85 maf should be fine. Is this true? I just sold the spare out of an '87 car I had for parts because it wasn't as new as the one in my '85....was this a mistake? Would the new analog maf have been better for tuning?

I assume that I should un-check the "Analog MAF Meter in use (HLM)" set box? What exactly does this do?
