TunerPro RT Wont initialize cable for datalogging
This one has me really stumped now. My Moates Xtreme ALDL used to work for datalogging and now it won't initialize when I click on 'Initialize Attached Hardware'.
TP does recognize the cable when i set it to an open com port and click on 'Test for Valid Cable Using Settings' but that's all it will do.
Here's what I've tried -
reinstalled TunerproRT
installed the latest FTDI drivers from the Moates site.
swapped the USB input cable with a known good one.
checked for com port / USB conflicts in System Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager ->Ports -> USB Serial Port(COM1) ->Port Settings -> Advanced
Here it showed that com ports 3 through 8 were in use so i set it to COM1 which was open... but this didn't help. It will still only recognize the valid cable but then won't initialize it.
Anybody have any ideas??? My laptop is an older Toshiba running XP. Also tried on the desktop PC and had the same problem.

ALDL cables don't get "initialized", that is for emulation equipment.
As long as the cable is "found and functional", you should be good to go with the correct ADS/ADX, just click on the connect button (two blue arrows), once the cable is attached to the car and the laptop, with the key on.

well whaddya know! Just tried connecting it to the ECM and it works totally fine. maybe i didn't have the 10K switch set when i tried it in the car... somehow I had the idea that it needed to initialize the cable as hardware.
Now onto tuning the part throttle surging at low rpm's. BLM's are in the 140's which might explain it.
anyway, thanks for the quick reply.
