convert a 8747 to a 7747 ??

convert a 8747 to a 7747 ??

is it possible to make my 8747 ecm tuned using a 7747 bin and def? what changes are there between the two? as far as i can find out they are they same ecm just one is for hd trucks...

No, the on-board ROM is different between the two ECMs. This is what makes one a '7747 and the other a '8747. There are actually 17-some ECMs that all use the same exact hardware. Only the on-board ROM is different between them.

ok that makes sense. i knew it couldn't be that easy

which definition would be the best to use with this ecm. i tried using the 1228747 v2.xdf off of moates and everything looks good except the ve table takes a serious dip in the center. like there's something wrong with it. the 4F def works but there's not near as many avenues to adjust on the 4F one.

how about getting the 8747 to spit out the sa and pw? what do i need to do?

ya i tossed around that idea too. but i just picked up a burn 2 and chips from moates about a week ago. so im gonna stick with this route. the ebl is a great thing. i just couldn't afford it at this time
