New to EBL what to set?
Almost ready to start VE Learn. I have a few questions about my setup. I have emissions headers with air tubes and cat with air tube hooked up. The cat has no inside(extremly highflow) its just there for visual inspection. I have the EGR removed and blocked off on the intake. I may remove the emission headers sometime but for now I have to run with the air pump. I know the air injection can cause problems with tuning. Also have 160 thermostat.
1. What is best way to disable the EGR for EBL?
2. What to set with Air injection?
3. What else to disable or enable and Exactly how?
4. What should I set for 160 thermostat?
On TunerPro

Okay for 1. I deselected Option word 4 bit 6 and bit 7 is this all I have to do? Or is this even right?

Option Word 4 - Bit 7 - EGR (checked)
EGR - CTS Enable Threshold (150 C)
AIR is not directly supported. Can either pop the pins out of the harness connectors at the ECM. Or wire the solenoids such that in normal mode the air always goes to the cat. Then use the PE Mode active output from the ECM to divert the air when in PE mode.
Note that divert is to atmosphere.
I'd recommend installing a higher temperature thermostat.
Check out the Introduction to Tuning Part 2 page on the web site. It covers the cal items that should be looked at and set for the first go around on tuning.

Im assuming here but I never removed the wiring or solenoids for it so is this wired in normal mode or do I have to do something else? Plus I did a search for PE and got lots of stuff. Where do I set this PE Mode divert?
Well even after searching and reading Im still not sure how to do this what exactly to set. What to do exactly? Would this mean the option word 4 bin 6 should be checked?

There isn't any thing specific for divert in PE mode. This is something that you need to set up via the wiring to the solenoids. For now either unplug the two solenoid electrical connections, or pop the pins out of C1 & C2 at the ECM.
With the engine idling it is easy to tell where the air is going. Can pull a hose off and put your hand in front of the hose. If it is blowing air you can easily feel it.
Pin C1 goes active when the ECM is in PE mode. Can be either active high or active low. This is set in the option flags.
Figure out how the solenoids need to be powered for the air to go to the cat. Then figure out which solenoid will then divert the air. Then set up the wiring so that when not in PE mode the air goes to the cat. Then use pin C1 to cause the air to divert while in PE mode.
The solenoids are powered by 12 V from the ignition. The ECM grounds the other solenoid pin to activate it. So you can pull the two hoses off, start the engine and let it idle. Where is the air going?
Then ground one of the C1/C2 pins and see where the air is going. Then the other pin and so on until you know which solenoid does what.

Re: New to EBL what to set?
Thanks for that RBOB. I have never worked on an air system before. I just figured there was something I could set. Then be done. Thanks so much for all the info!!!!
