Timing issue, or fuel

Well I finally have the new computer hooked up on the new motor and I am trying to start tuning. I started it up today seem to be running pretty good. The Holley dominator ecm was adjusting the fuel but the headers seemed to be really hot at idle. I put wire protectors on the plug wires and they were turning black. And if I idle the car to 1500rpm the headers start to glow. Is this too much timing, not enough timing or are the injectors to big. I'm running 30lb injectors from trick flow and the 268xfi cam. As far as timing goes where is a safe place for me start at. I have it set to 10 degrees idling at 1000rpm w/ 26 degrees of advance.

Re: Timing issue, or fuel

Ok I just noticed that the headers have ruined my spark plug wires basically cooked right thru them, so that is has something to do with my glowing headers. Question is why where the headers getting that hot to cook the wires. Never had that happen before. So after I replace the wires, should I add more timing, take away more timing, and or lower the fuel pressure, I have the fuel pressure set to 43psi? thanks for the help
